Hot tub accessories you’ll love – A hot tub cover

A hot tub cover keeps it clean and dry when you’re not using it. It keeps fallen leaves out, prevents pets and other animals messing around in it, and keeps bird poo away from the surfaces. Because bird poo can be extremely corrosive if left to lie, it’s worth thinking about. A cover also means the tub is ready for fun whenever you are – just pop the cover off and you’re ready to go, with minimal cleaning.

Hot tub salt water systems

A special hot tub salt water system saves time and hassle. All you do is add a small amount of salt and the system generates chlorine automatically, which means a whole lot less time spent measuring chemicals – which is easy to get wrong. It’s a great way to take the hassle out of keeping the water clean and fresh.

The water itself feels nicer, too and it won’t dry your skin out so much. The tub stays cleaner for longer and there’s no need to constantly drain the tub – as long as 12 months – meaning you conserve water. And as a rule for life as well as hot tubs, it’s always good to use fewer chemicals.

It is just gorgeous hanging around in bubbly hot water when it’s sunny, but the sun can get a bit much and you don’t want to burn. Hot tub steps and a handrail

When it’s wet things get slippery. Not everyone wants to climb into a hot tub. Most of us prefer to walk up steps in a more dignified fashion rather than scrambling up the sides, which can cause damage. If children use the tub it’s even more important to create a safe way to get in and out, and a hot tub handrail and special hot tub steps does the trick.

You can either build a permanent set of wooden, concrete or stone steps with a sturdy wooden rail, or buy special ones designed for the job, made of tough plastic or metal. If your hot tub has high walls, choose a swimming pool ladder for the best safety and efficiency.

Hot tubbing is all about chilling, but it’s hard to relax when you’re not comfortable. Hard edges can be a pain, so a hot tub spa pillow set – basically a specially designed headrest – is a blessing. Remember to remove the headrests when not using the tub to keep them in the best condition and make them last longer. Simply rinse them in tap water to take away any chemical residue then stash them out of the sun. Some are curved, some are tapered, others look like regular pillows. Some are even weighted.

Hot tub water seats

Hot tub water seats are built for extra comfort but they’re also practical. Say you’re on the short side or there are children hot tubbing. The increased height you get by sitting on the seat brings you closer to the jets for a more dramatic bubble, and can also be used to support your back. Just fill the seat with water.

Little people love hot tub ducks, a fresh version of the rubber ducks you get for bath time. Giant rubber ducks are a popular buy! There are inflatable flags to float around like colourful cushions, beach balls, waterproof decks of playing cards, floating drinks can holders and more, just for fun.

Imagine your hot tub filled with gorgeous scent? Just like bath salts but designed for hot tubbing, they add an extra-relaxing dimension to the experience with a choice of wonderful fragrances, usually in crystal form.

 Floating hot tub tray

A plastic floating hot tub tray is a brilliant idea for floating drinks and eats, and can also perch safely on the edge for easy-to-reach treats. Inflatable versions are a top idea, often featuring special shaped holes where food and drinks sit safely without tipping over. There’s even a floating tray with room for several glasses and a bottle of something lovely, lit up with LED light. Very cool.
